It was opined that bus fleet utilization in Chandigarh was good at 95 per cent in contrast to 80 per cent in Delhi. Experts opined that this needs to be reversed to reduce the overall cost of bus operations and make them viable.

Also the diesel prices have been hiked for bulk buyers by Rs 10 per litre which is affecting buses. For cars the hike is 50 paise per litre at a time. In Chandigarh fuel cost of 28 per cent of the operational cost.
