CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Cricket Association (Affiliated to PCA) has selected the probables for the upcoming Senior Women Inter-District Cricket Tournament starting from August 22. The selected players will report to coach RP Singh at 4 pm today at Guru Nanak Public School,Sector 36.
The selected players are : Harpreet Kaur,Sunaina Saini,Taniya Bhatia,Mamta,Suneta,Maneesha,Himanshi,Raj,Divaya,Annu,Parvez,Muskan,Lovely,Ruchika,Rajani,Rashami,Akriti,Vanika,Sonia,Priyanka,Sunanina,Amarjit,Nandani,Monika,Preeti,Reena.
Jasmol rallies into main draw
panchkula: Jasmol Arora rallied into the main draw with a 7-2 win over Shivam Gulati in the boys’ U-14 singles category in the Lawn tennis Tournament being organised by Manav Mangal School and Ideal Tennis Academy. In another match in the same category,Kaskaran Riar ended the challenge of Shaurya Bannerjee with a 7-0 win while Gurjot Singh registered an easy 7-1 win over Tushar Kumar. It was easy going for Chiaraz Dandona as he scored a 7-2 win over Abhinav to march into the next round.
Verma steers St Stpehen’s into final
panchkula: A hat-trick by Nikhil Verma steered St Stephen’s School to an easy 8-1 win over Little Flower Convent School,Panchkula and into the final of the ICSE Inter-School Football Tournament played on Saturday.
For the winning team,Nikhil Verma scored three goals while Rinrethan scored a brace. Teg Pratap,Rishabh and Pankaj scored a goal each. For the loosing team,Paras scored the solitary goal. In the second semi-final,St Xaviers School scored an easy 4-0 win over St Xaviers School,Panchkula. Ashish scored a brace while Karan Bisht and Gurjot scored a goal each for the winning team.
National Senior Squash kicks off today
Jaipur: Top seeded Saurav Ghoshal and Joshna Chinnappa would be favourites in the 61st National Squash Championship 2013 which kicks off with qualifying rounds at the Jaipur Club here today. The tournament will be missed by top Indian women player Dipika Pallikal and Anaka Alankamony who have not entered in fray due to personal reasons. Another stalwart Ritwik Bhattacharya who had lightened the Jaipur club courts on number of occasions earlier in the Golecha Squash has reportedly quit competitive squash.
