Cong demands CBI probe,resignation of CM,Kashyap

“The audio CDs have a voice,allegedly attributed to the CM,talking about tapping of Union Minister for Steel Virbhadra Singh’s phones. Virbhadra had already expressed apprehensions about such a possibility,which was denied by Dhumal earlier. But the CD has raised doubts about his claim which should be inquired by the CBI,” said Rathore.

He said the issue of a packet containing Rs 25,000,allegedly found by Virender Kashyap in April 2009 in a hotel at Solan,was highlighted by the Congress during the Lok Sabha elections,but the ruling BJP had brushed it under the carpet. “Later,in a dramatic way,the MP handed over the packet to the police. After two days,it was claimed by BJP worker Tirath Ram,who was later elevated as Member of the Board of Director of Civil Supplies Corporation,” said Rathore.

“The government had hushed up the entire issue then. Now,the video CD shows that the MP is accepting Rs 5 lakh for getting some work done,” he added.

The Congress would also request the Lok Sabha Speaker to take action against Kashyap as the CD cast shadow on the integrity of an MP,Rathore said. He ruled out the hand of any Congress worker in the episode and said the government should look for answers within.
