For the majority us,mobile phone isnt just about talking and SMSing. Its about music, data transfer, internet and fast speed, Richard Tan,Country Manager,Acer Smart Handheld Business Group,India, tells us thats the reason they have come up with new technologies including snapdragon processor, biometric feature and dual-sided communication in their new range of smart phone DX900,DX650,X960,F900 and M900.
Designed to meet the 20 per cent growth in the smart phone segment, while DX900 is a dual-SIM phone, the DX650 is a dual-face design phone with touch screen on one side and finger-friendly keypad on other. As for F900,it features web browsing capabilities,M900 has biometric feature and X960 is positioned as an all purpose handset. All these feature-enriched smartphones from Acers stable are pitched to grab at least 10 per cent share of the Indian market and a substantial share in the Chandigarh circle, where around 30,000 cell phones get sold per month, says Tan.
With computer-like features rated high on the wanted-list of the mobile consumer, while last year the sales in basic phone market were on a down slide, the sales figures for smart phones were still positive, chips in Rajiv Babbar,Founder Director of Vision Distribution, who feels that state-of-the art technology, speed, processing power, keyboard and display package are essential requirements of the market.
Due to launch the first phone in Indian market with snapdragon processor in September,Acers high-end smart-phone F1 is expected to be priced between Rs 35,000- Rs 40,000,will run at 800Mhz and will have a five-mega pixel camera in tow. Besides it will also sport GPS,WiFi and 3G data connectivity and will work at fast speed. Looking
forward to that!
