PU MEd entrance exam on July 7
Panjab University (PU) will conduct entrance test for admission to MEd courses on July 7. The entrance test will be conducted for MEd (regular) and for MEd (2 year correspondence course for in-service teachers). The last date for deposit of fee in any branch of State Bank of India using PU website- http://www.pu.ac.in- generated challan is June 13 and the last date for submission of fee details (journal no.; branch code and date of deposit given by Bank) and uploading of photograph,signature with rest of the information on the website is June 17.
218 enrol for PGP course at ISB
Indian School of Business (ISB) on Wednesday announced the commencement of the academic year 2014 of its post-graduate programme in management (PGP). In all,774 students enrolled for the programme at its Hyderabad and Mohali campuses. ISB deputy dean Deepak Chandra said,We hope that the 218 students,who have joined the Mohali campus,will make the most of their time at ISB to hone their skills and make a mark for themselves in their chosen careers.
PU to hold CET from June 15-18
Panjab University (PU) has given students a last chance to appear for the Combined Entrance Test (post graduate) and LLB (three -year). The entrance test for PU-CET (PG) 2013 will be held from June 15 to 18 while the entrance test for LLB (three- year) course will be conducted on June 23. Students can now submit application forms till 4 pm on June 4.
Docs apprise jail inmates of ills of smoking
As part of World No Tobacco Day celebrations,over 300 inmates and staff of Burail Model Jail were informed about the hazards of smoking by Dr Zafar Ahmed Iqbal of Fortis Hospital in Mohali. The doctor warned that one million people will die every year from tobacco smoking in India over the next 10 years. He added that a puff of cigarette smoke contained more than 4,000 chemicals,of which,10 per cent are carcinogenic.
BJP protest supply of electricity in Colony No. 4
Members of the BJPs ward number 20 wing held a protest in front of the Power House Industrial Area-I against supply of electricity through a contractor in Colony No. 4 and raised slogans against Chandigarh Administration and the electricity department. Protesters also blocked the road at Bhushan Light Point for more than two hours. Addressing the protesters president of city BJP unit Sanjay Tandon said the party would not allow the Administration to give the electricity supply on contract basis against the wishes of the colony residents.
