chandigarh: Chandigarh cueist Rajat Khaneja’s fine run came to an end when he went down fighting to state mate Anmoldeep Singh in a Group P match in the PJ Hindu Gymkhana National 6-Red snooker championship at Mumbai on Friday. Anmoldeep beat Khaneja 51(51)-1,35-33,42-38,41-25 to cruise ahead in the tournament. Meanwhile,Manjot Singh of Punjab lost to Jaiveer Dhingra of Maharashtra 0-56,44-6,49-19,36-16,29-26 in a Group K match. Manjot lost his second match of the day when he was beaten by Yogesh Sharma of Maharashtra 56-16,16-26,8-52,26-8,34-22,34-11.
Good response for AITA meet
CHANDIGARH: A total of 180 players singed in for the CLTA-AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament,to be organised by CLTA,for Boy’s & Girl’s under-12 & 16 from June 11 to 15. The qualifying matches for this event will be played on June 9 and 10. Players from different states of India have come to participate in this tournament. Entries of boys Under-12 and -16 and girls Under -12 and -16 are 63,87,16 and 12 respectively. The girls Under-12 qualifying rounds have been cancelled due to less sign-in. All the girls are in the main draw. The qualifying first round matches of boy’s Under-12 and -16 will be played at Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) Complex and Lake Sports Complex,Chandigarh.Meanwhile,the players to get wild card for the tournament are
