City boy wins National Cyber Olympiad

A class VI boy from the city,Charandeep Kapoor,won the 11th National Cyber Olympiad and was awarded a laptop by the Science Olympiad Foundation today,at a ceremony held in Tagore Theatre.

A class VI boy from the city,Charandeep Kapoor,won the 11th National Cyber Olympiad and was awarded a laptop by the Science Olympiad Foundation today,at a ceremony held in Tagore Theatre.

A student of Vivek High School Sector 38,Charandeep has secured first place in the national Cyber Olympiad in class VI category. Sharing his joy,Charandeep said,“I study three to four hours everyday. I had to shun my sports practice in order to spend more time on preparation for my academics and this olympiad. My sacrifice has yielded good results.”

Charandeep also won a bronze medal in the National Science Olympiad for class VI. Another student from the region,Prateek from Maharana Pratap Public School,Kurukshetra,was also honoured during the ceremony. He received a sum of Rs 1 lakh for winning in class VIII category.

Prateek’s his father Gyan Singh said he was proud of his son. Prateek said that he had worked very hard,studying 8-10 hours every day and this was the result of that hard work. He aims to become an IAS officer.

Addressing the gathering,Chief Guest Justice J L Gupta,former Chief Justice of Kerela High Court,said,“It is the duty of the society to recognise its members for their achievements. It boosts their confidence and motivates them to achieve their goals.”

Dr P S Jaiswal,Vice-Chancellor,Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law,Patiala was present at the award function.
