CAT issues contempt notice to PGI

The Central Administrative Tribunal,Chandigarh,issued a contempt notice to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research.

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT),Chandigarh,on Thursday issued a contempt notice to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) director Dr K K Talwar for disobeying its directions.

Earlier this month,the Tribunal had directed PGIMER authorities to revise the pay scale and change recruitment rules of some employees in the Sanitary department. The order was given on a petition filed by Sanitary Inspector Piare Ram Dogra on May 21 this year.

Dogra,however,alleged that after holding meetings,PGIMER authorities on November 18 ruled that his case would be re-examined. Following this,he moved the Tribunal with a contempt case against PGIMER authorities.
