She played a fair game,and is back on the playground for another run. The court’s in session once again,and Dr Kiran Bedi is raring to go. “For this time,it’s bigger,better,and more aware,” she says,overwhelmed with the immense response season one of Star’s Aap Ki Kachehri received.

The show’s unique concept and cutting edge content has catapulted it to prime time,starting Wednesday,August 5 at 8 pm on Star Plus. And with Season Two,Dr Bedi will bring to fore cases which will have a ripple effect. “I would like to believe so,” she cites how,as compared to the last season,awareness levels have increased among people. “They’re coming better prepared,and are more informed,” tells Dr Bedi,impressed with the increase in the number of women fighting for their rights. “Especially Muslim women. Over the last few years,our country has seen women walk out of their set lives and earn a living equal to the man of the house. This has not only elevated her status,given her power and independence,but also brought trouble for now,men are demanding a share in her income and assets,” Dr Bedi refers to one case where a man has put a stake in his wife’s property. With more and more women going in for higher studies,opting for better lives and financial independence,the law of nature is witnessing a shift in the balance,which is evidently making the men uncomfortable. “Such changes are the indicators of a changing society,and you’ll see more such cases coming up at Aap Ki Kachehri,” says Dr Bedi.

Season two has also covered the length and breadth of the country,and there’ll be a wide range of cases from many states in India. “Season one saw a number of disputes being resolved on the show,and this comeback promises to provide more such valuable contribution to the society,” feels Dr Bedi,hoping that real conflict resolution and legal awareness will create more awareness.
