HPU prof gets UGC Emeritus Fellowship
Former professor of Himachal Pradesh Universitys Department of Public Administration Dr Padam Nabh Gautam has been awarded the University Grants Commission Emeritus Fellowship. Professor Gautam is known for his research in implementing agenda of the government and formulation of private sector policies for effective governance and functioning. His research proposal is to conduct research on the subject of basic needs of hill people with special reference to Himachal Pradesh. About two decades ago,I conducted research study on needs of hill people,focusing on social and administrative response in Himachal Pradesh. The new study will take it further, he said on Wednesday. He will join HPU for another two years.
RKMV principal named HPU CoE
Himachal Pradesh University gave charge of Controller of Examinations (CoE) to Dr Naresh Kumar Mahajan,Principal of RKMV College,on Wednesday. After retirement of former CoE A N Gupta in December,said the HPU spokesperson,Mahajan had been appointed as CoE on deputation till a regular appointment was made.
BJYM accuses UPA of ignoring Himachal
At the first meeting of the state wing of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM),the youth wing of the BJP now headed by MP Anurag Thakur ,the UPA government at the Centre came under sharp attack for corruption,inability to check activities of militant outfits and ignoring vital interests of the state. Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal,who addressed the session at the party office here,exhorted the youth to wage a war against corruption and pressurise the UPA government to act against militants and other separatist forces. Narinder Atri,president of the BJYM,complimented Dhumal on completion of three years in power and also for the partys victory in the panchayat and urban bodies polls.
