Born in India and brought up in Canada,where he moved to 15 years ago,singer Gurjit Rahal comes from a land which has given Punjabi music some of the best singing stars including Harbhajan Mann,Debbie Makhsoospuri,Jazzy B and Gurshewak Mann. Following their league,Rahal,who has been performing as a lead singer in Canada in various community shows and events,released his second album called Takeova (Universal Music). Rahal has collaborated with UK-based Punjabi DJ production team Rhythm Dhol Bass (RDB). “This one is special to me because of my collaboration with RDB,” says Rahal,who was in town to release his second album. His songs in the album Aish Karogi was appreciated by Akshay Kumar himself. With 12 power-packed tracks,Takeova carries distinct RDB influences infusing Hip Hop,R&B with bhangra and club. Rahal’s last album Peenghan Pyaar Diyan,in which he had collaborated with Manpreet Tiwana,also did well.
