The counselling for architecture course at Punjab Technical University (PTU) received a lukewarm response. The counselling was held on Tuesday but barely 40 per cent students reported. There will be no second counselling, said the authorities.
Many applicants alleged that the PTU had conducted the counselling in a hasty manner but not many students turned up on Wednesday either. The counselling was held for courses available at five colleges under PTU on the basis of marks scored in Class XII. A merit list of 323 students was prepared but only 127 students turned up.
A parent of one of the candidates said they were earlier informed that the date of putting up the merit list had been extended. But the list was put up on the Internet on Tuesday and counselling was held all of a sudden.
PTU authorities,on the other hand, said students were informed about the counselling date well before. They, however, did not comment on the low turnout.
Dean and chief coordinator of CET 2010 Dr N P Singh said the date of counselling had been communicated before and was also published in the prospectus.
