The Sukhbir Bajwa-Ranju Aery panel won 8 out of 9 posts after the results of the Chandigarh Press Club elections were declared. Bajwa was re-elected the president,defeating Davi Davinder Kaur by 124 votes. Ranju Aery was elected the general secretary.

Express staffer retires

Rattan Singh,an employee of The Indian Express retired after 36 years of service. He was given a warm farewell in the office premises. He had joined the organization in 1977.

Man dies in hit-and-run case

In yet another hit-and-run case,an unknown car hit the driver of an auto at the Pre-Paid booth,Sector 43 on Sunday in the wee hours. The driver of the three-wheeler,Amar Singh,a resident of Mohali was rushed to PGIMER and was declared dead on arrival. Police officials said that the unknown driver of a car,sped away after hitting the driver. The police is yet to make any arrests as the registration number of the car is yet to be known.
