Two injured in Mauli Jagran clash
Chandigarh: Clashes broke out between BJP and Congress workers in Mauli Jagran this afternoon,in which two Congress men were injured. The BJP workers were staging a protest outside the police post demanding registration of the case against a Congress worker Nasrullah Khan,for allegedly sodomising a minor on September 4. Police said that a group of Congress workers present outside the police post shouted slogans against the BJP. There was an argument which led to a minor clash between the two in which Nasar-u-Din and Sajad Ahmed,both residents of Mani Majra were injured. The two are associated with Congress, said a police officer.
Man booked for assault on woman
Sas Nagar: The police have booked a resident of Kurali on charges of assault a woman with the intention of outraging her modesty,voluntarily causing hurt,criminal intimidation and criminal intimidation. The accused has been identified as Rohit. Mandeep Kaur (28),resident of Nagalian,had complained to the police that the accused was known to her husband and often visited their house. On Friday afternoon at 1 pm,the accused entered the complainants house and asked for her husband. On finding out that the victim’s husband had gone out the accused tried to assault her. He fled the spot when the victim raised an alarm. The accused has not been arrested till now. Further investigations are underway in the case.
3 motorcycles stolen
Sas Nagar: Vehicle lifters had a field day in Mohali with two motorcycles being reported to be stolen from the city and a theft case for another one stolen in August being registered by the police.
