Excellence centre to be set up in city
The Rayat-Bahra Punjab Infotech Centre of Excellence (RBPICOE),situated on national highway 21 near Chandigarh,will be inaugurated on July 23. Gurvinder Singh Bahra,chairman,Rayat-Bahra Group said that the centre will be the first of its kind in India and will focus on developing core skills in emerging sectors.
NIIT honours successful alumni
The National Institute for Information Technology (NIIT) on Thursday felicitated a number of its alumni in the city. The NIIT fraternity and students listed the achievements of the alumni in the different organisations they have been working with. Manjit Kaur Brar,Principal of the Government College for Commerce and Business Administration in Sector 42 was the chief guest.
UT Advisor visits city architecture college
Advisor to the UT administrator KK Sharma visited the Chandigarh college of architecture on Thursday to view the exhibition of the prize-winning entries of the National Student Competition for Eco friendly School Design. The competition had been organised by the college on behalf of the Euro Group Charity Fund,Nand and Jeet Khemka Foundation and the Nabha Foundation.

The Panjab University Teachers Association will organise a Breast and Cervix Cancer awareness and detection camp at the Golden Jubilee Hall between 2 and 5 pm on July 22.

CHANDIGARH: While the Panjab University authorities have constituted a committee to inquire into the complaint by a student leader that he was hit by a teacher,members of various PU student organisations submitted a representation to Vice Chancellor demanding a probe and a fair inquiry into the matter.
