A day before the convocation at PGI,its faculty association has sought a formal meeting with Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is also president of the institute,to highlight their problems. We request the health minister as well as the PGI director to facilitate the formal meeting so that we can highlight the problems of the faculty, who is the backbone of this institute, said PGI Faculty Association president Dr Virendra Singh. He said it was very unfortunate that the association had not been given time to put forward their problems in front of Azad. All faculty associations have been requesting the PGI director for the last five years to arrange this meeting, but it never happened. The associations feel it is not proper to present a memorandum to him in the corridor when he will visit PGI on February 4 for the convocation. Therefore,we request for a formal meeting. We hope the minister will not disappoint us this time, said Singh.
