Chandigarhians got a taste of the wild on Saturday,with the Coyotes and Midival Punditz from Delhi sizzling at the Kava restaurant in Sector 26 and DJ Akbar Sami rocking the dance floor with his remixed versions at Score Pub in Sector 8. The DJ also introduced Kingfisher Ultra — The Emperor Presents,a property that will showcase DJs from around the country across the various cities where Kingfisher Ultra has launched. The brand,launched in September 2009,is currently available in Mumbai,Bangalore,Pune,Puducherry and Delhi. Generations of Love
Eurokids,Panchkula,held week-long celebrations for Grandparents Day. Celebrated on the theme,‘Generations of Love’, grandparents were invited to participate in fun activities,especially designed to enrich the grandparent-teacher-child interaction. The elderly enthralled the little ones with stories and lullabies while the children had a happy time singing and dancing.

Dance for a CauseRotararct Club Chandigarh in association with Efficycle is organising a salsa workshop called “Reavivar La Espereanza’ from September 17 to 20. “The revenue from the event will go to the Leh victim fund,” says Amritpaul Singh of the club. On September 17 and 18,the workshop will be held at Rotary House in Sector 18 and on September 19 and 20 at Bal Bhawan,Sector 23.

“Eight lakh mobile phones are sold in Punjab and Haryana every month and,of these,only 15 per cent are high-end models,” says Ajay Mehta,managing director,MCC Group,as he launches an array of handsets —Jumbo i9,Crystal i10,RS 8,S10,thump i11 and T9X at Hotel Mountview. Mehta adds multimedia is the most sought after feature in the basic models. “Youngsters want features like bluetooth,FM,GPRS and expandable memory even in the basic models,” he says. “We’ve provided these in most of MCC phones that come in the range of Rs 1,300 and Rs 3,000.” Most phones have dual sim facility and the Jumbo i9 comes with a standby time of 45 days.
