Abducted boy rescued

An 8-year-old student of Army Public School,Ambala Cantonment,who was kidnapped by a few car-borne people from the Defence Colony locality,was rescued.

An 8-year-old student of Army Public School,Ambala Cantonment,who was kidnapped by a few car-borne people from the Defence Colony locality,was rescued by the Panchkula police from the Barwala-Dera Bassi road on Thursday.

One of the three accused has been arrested,while two others managed to flee,after 15 rounds of fire were exchanged,said a senior police officer.

The car with the abducted boy reached the check post on Barwala-Dera Bassi road around 8.30 pm. When the police asked them to stop,they fired at the officers. The police fired back and two accused managed to flee in the melee. The arrested man,whose name was not disclosed,was taken into custody by the Ambala police.

Earlier in the day,Vansh had just alighted from the school bus near his home around 3.15 pm when two people caught hold of him and pushed him in a car (HR51-2203) and sped away. The boy had raised an alarm and was seen by the area residents when he was kidnapped. The borders of the district were sealed and an alert was sounded.
