About 800 students from the city appeared in this years first Class X examination under Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) on Monday.
Students from five schools including St Kabir School Sector 26,St Stephens School Sector 45,Tender Heart School Sector 33,Strawberry Fields School Sector 26 and St Xaviers School Sector 44 appeared in English I (language).
The next examination (English II literature) for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Class X students is scheduled on Wednesday (February 29).
The post-examination discussions among students indicated that most of them found the exams fairly easy and most of the students were able to finish the test before time.
The timings for the examination were 11 am to 1 pm.
St Kabir School will be switch over to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from the next academic session.
Contractual workers to go on strike at PGI today
Contractual workers of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) will observe a strike on February 28 as a part of the nationwide-strike being led by joint front of various trade unions across the country.
The strike is being observed against price rise,disinvestment of profit-making PSUs and violation of labour laws among other reasons. The hospital administration has made alternative arrangements to deal with the situation.
Meanwhile,a delegation of Nurses Union of Government Medical College and Hospital at Sector 32 met with the UT Health Cum Home Secretary Anil Kumar and apprised him of their long standing demands of filling up of sanctioned posts of about 300 staff nurses.
They also informed him about the revision of pay scales which was not being implemented by the UT Administration.
