Six students were injured after members of the Hindustan Student Association (HSA) and the Panjab University Students Union (PUSU) clashed at the Government College for Men,Sector 11,Chandigarh,on Saturday afternoon.
According to the College principal,J S Raghu,the incident occurred when some students from outside the college,entered the premises and started abusing students in the college. Manpreet Singh,a PUSU leader alleged that Ajit Singh,Sanjeet Mann and other HSA members hit him and others with hockey sticks and rods.
A case was registered against Ashok,Narinder and Mukesh,by Manpreet,in Sector-11 police station,on charges of attempt to murder and rioting with deadly weapons. HSA president Kuldeep Singh Sheoran on the other hand,alleged: PUSU members were using abusive language and HSA tried to stop them. However,when they did not listen,our members got enraged.
