41 physically challenged persons get three-wheelers

The smile on Manju Gupta’s face was palpable when she received the keys of an LPG autorickshaw from Mayor Anu Chatrath at the Sukhna Lake on Thursday.

Gupta was among the 41 beneficiaries under the BPL scheme who received three-wheelers from the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. Gupta,who has a problem in walking,will now be able to earn her livelihood. There were several others like her who will no longer be dependent.

Chatrath congratulated the beneficiaries and advised them to be regular in the repayment of loans distributed by Punjab National Bank for purchasing the vehicles.

A rally of the new autorickshaws was also taken out. Municipal Commissioner Dr Roshan Sunkaria extended his best wishes to the beneficiaries.
