30-year-old killed in accident

A pedestrian was killed while two others were injured when a truck hit them near the road stretch between Railway Light Point and Transport Light Point,late on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar (30),a native of Bihar who was presently residing in Bapu Dham Colony,Sector 26. Kumar was into a business of supplying cigarettes to shopkeepers.

As per police,the accident took place around 10 pm near the bridge on the road stretch.

The truck which was coming from Manimajra side,reportedly lost control after one of its tyres burst. As a result,the truck hit Kumar,who was walking on the footpath,and a scooter travelling on the road.

Kumar and the two scooter riders,Sunil and Chandershekhar,were rushed to a hospital. Kumar succumbed to injuries at PGI in the wee hours of Saturday. Meanwhile the truck driver fled from the spot and was yet to be arrested. Kumar is survived by his wife and two children.
