ABVP, NSUI protest at MSU over delay in issue of BCom marksheets

While the first year B.Com students have been awaiting results for close to 90 days, the result of the third semester examination has not been declared for 103 days. This is against the university rule of issuing mark sheets within 45 days from the exam.

Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the National Students Union of India (NSUI) Wednesday held a protest at the head office of MS University in Vadodara over the delay in the issue of mark sheets of the Faculty of Commerce. However, the university reasoned that the results have been delayed by “unforeseen circumstances”.

Both ABVP and NSUI submitted a memorandum to the MSU management issuing an “ultimatum” for releasing the mark sheets. ABVP also staged a protest beating thalis to “wake up” the management.

ABVP and NSUI submitted separate memorandums to the University PRO threatening “aggressive protests” after the stipulated deadline.

“We have submitted our memorandum to MSU and asked them to issue the mark sheets within a week failing which we will begin an aggressive protest,” said NSUI president Amar Vaghela.

The ABVP, in its memorandum, gave an ultimatum of 10 days. “Our protest today is an attempt to awaken the MSU management that has pushed the future of students into darkness… Despite having a stipulated time of 45 days to issue results, the BCom students have been waiting for 103 days. We have warned them that if the results are not issued within 10 days, we will stage massive protests at the head office,” said  Akshay Rabari of ABVP.
