Police officials investigating the murder of a 24-year-old woman from Bihar, who was working at a private firm and staying at a paying guest accommodation in Bengaluru, have identified the alleged killer as her roommate’s ex-boyfriend.
The accused, Abhishek, hails from Bhopal and is currently unemployed, police said.
Kriti Kumari was stabbed to death a little after 11 pm on Tuesday night, at her PG accommodation in Koramangala. According to the police, she worked as a business development associate at a project-based learning platform.
The accused, police said, used to be in a relationship with her roommate. He had allegedly told his girlfriend that he had started working, which she discovered was a lie and prompted her to eventually end the relationship, police said.
According to the police, the accused would visit the PG and argue with his girlfriend, and Kumari would often intervene. Police also said Kumari, who had been staying at the PG since March, had urged her roommate to stop living with the accused and move there.
Police identified Abhishek using CCTV footage. A police officer said they are yet to arrest him and suspect he might have fled the state.
