Six drown in Kutch flood

Six members of a family,including three children and an infant,drowned in flood waters at Bhachau town as heavy rains lashed Kutch district on Monday. The police said the incident occurred on Monday evening when their vehicle drowned in flood waters.

The deceased were identified as Chirag Ahir (8 months),Bhumika (3),Lakshmi (4),Mahesh (2),Devo (30) and Muli Ahir (27). Many dams in the region are reported to be overflowing . Jamnagar district in Saurashtra region also received heavy rainfall affecting the road traffic to some remote areas in the district. Meanwhile,a couple was reported injured when lightning struck them while they were asleep on Monday night.
