RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat (File)It is a part of India’s cultural tradition to help those in critical situation, even the ones who wage war against us, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday.
At a gathering at Bhagwan Mahavir University, where he held a meeting with Jain community priest Acharya Mahashramanji, Bhagwat said, “We neither become victims of violence nor do we commit violence. Pakistan attacked us during Kargil war; if we wished, we would have carried out an attack on the entire country. But, a clear instruction was given to our army not to cross the border. They were told to clean the area inside our borders (to remove the infiltrators).”
Recalling the 2016 Uri surgical strike, he said, “We entered inside their country (Pakistan) and only targeted critical spots in the problematic areas. Let the people think about what is right or wrong, we don’t bother. Our base is spiritual. The soul of entire mankind is the same and let all lifeforms live happily. We should just think about doing good without worrying about the outcome and the rest of the world will follow us.”
Later in the evening, Bhagwat attended a seminar on the topic ‘Indian tradition of harmonious coexistence with the nature’. The seminar was attended by vice chancellors of 70 universities across the country.
