Patidar stir case: Dharmik Malaviya granted bail by Surat court

A day after his bail plea was rejected, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samithi convenor and Khodal Dham Surat president Dharmik Malaviya got bail on Saturday by the Surat Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court in a case related to the 2018 Patidar movement.

Malaviya, among others, were booked under IPC sections 153 (giving provocation to cause a riot), 427 (causing damage to public property) and 114 (abettor present at the spot when offence is committed) for allegedly defaming political leaders in 2018 amid a statewide Patidar movement, which was spearheaded by Hardik Patel.
