‘NID facing severe shortage of teachers’

The National Institute of Design (NID) has lagged in research and publication and faces a severe shortage of permanent faculty,according to an assessment conducted to monitor the institution’s performance. NID has been reeling under a faculty shortage for sometime now,with visiting faculty outnumbering the permanent faculty. Some faculty have openly complained about this shortage given that the government is planning to open four new NIDs across the country.
