With an aim to clamp down on bunking of classes at the MS University by students and teachers, the varsity authorities have now decided to come up with strict measures to ensure better attendance.
One of the measures to check the bunking is the mandatory signing in on the attendance record for each class. The record book will then be submitted to the office of the head of the department and through him to the dean’s office.
The dean will submit report on the classes held and on attendance of students each fortnight. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of deans and principals held on Thursday. It has been decided to form a centralised committee at the university level to monitor and hold the classes and attendance by students, with Singh himself making surprise visits to the faculties to check if the classes are held.
Students can also write down their complaints and suggestions and drop it in a suggestion box to be kept outside the office of the dean. They can also write directly to the V-C via email.
“The names of the students from whom complaints are received by him shall be kept confidential,” MSU registrar and communication cell head, Amit Dholakia said.
