Audience and mediapersons at a book launch by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who were hoping to interact with him, were left dumbfounded when the CM walked away abruptly after the ceremony.

On Thursday evening,Modi launched well-known astrologer Bejan Daruwalla’s book 2012-End of the World, the invite for which had mentioned “a media interaction with the chief minister and Bejan Daruwalla”.

On the dais were Darulwalla,Modi and the astrologer’s son Nastur Daruwalla, who spoke in turns about the book.

Once Daruwalla finished his piece and called for question and answer session,Modi taking little note of the announcement, headed for the art gallery on the CEPT University campus. The glitterati at the event consisted of business honchos and religious scions of the Parsi community who headed to the high tea served at the event.

Meanwhile, speculation was rife that the book that had been written way back in 2010,bided patiently before making its public appearance in Ahmedabad just so the CM could be part of it.

This came to light when Modi said,“When Bejan called me for launching his book,I did not think twice and agreed to come. But it is only now that the dates for the same have come together and I could make it here.”

Hailing Modi as the lucky lion,Daruwalla spoke about how India will become China by 2050 and also improvised Modi’s own slogan ‘Sauno saath, sauno vikaas’ to say ‘Bharat ke saath,Narendra ka haath’.
