Modi gets rousing welcome

Calling the BJP a tree grown by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and L K Advani,Chief Minister Narendra Modi,in his first public speech after his coronation as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate,said that now the time had come for a change.

“Vajpayeeji was elected after the country had seen a very bad phase of a decade. Unfortunately,the last decade has also been bad for the country,” said Modi,who got a grand welcome by the party leaders and workers upon his arrival at Ahmedabad airport from Delhi on Friday night. He said it was only character and culture of the BJP that it gave such a big responsibility to a “small worker” like him.
