Man from Bengal found dead

A man from West Bengal was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Karelibaug area of the city on Thursday afternoon. Police have not ruled out murder.

A man from West Bengal was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Karelibaug area of the city on Thursday afternoon. Police have not ruled out murder.

The body of Bappi Hudati (35),who hailed from Howrah district,was found in bushes in Tulsiwadi area of Karelibaug around 2 pm,police said.

“A passersby the police after which we went to the spot and found his voter’s I-card,which established his identity,” Karelibaug police inspector Samat Varotaria said.

Police said a thin iron cable was found round his neck. “It seems he committed suicide by hanging self or somebody murdered him this morning. We have sent the body for post mortem,” Varotaria said,adding the body was sent to government-run SSG Hospital in the city.

A number of West Bengal natives who come to Vadodara in search of work live in Karelibaug area. Police said they were trying to trace the deceased’s relatives,if any,adding that a case of accidental death was registered.
