Shaktisinh Gohil, Congress MP from Gujarat and a former president of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), has been appointed as the Convener of the Sub-Committee Action Taken Reports (ATR) of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), one of the important constitutional committees in Parliament. While Dharmendra Yadav (MP from Uttar Pradesh) has been appointed as the Alternate Convener of this committee, Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi, Sukhendu Shekhar Ray, Aparajita Sarangi, Praful Patel and Nishikant Dubey have been appointed as its members. This committee examines the audit reports of all the departments of the Centre by the CAG and the action-taken reports on the recommendations made by the Public Accounts Committee based on which it will prepare a report on the action taken by each department. Fresh team After the recent appointment of Jagdish Vishwakarma as the president of the Gujarat BJP, political circles are keeping a watch on the formation of a fresh state BJP team under him. Vishwakarma is now on a weeklong tour of the state during which he will visit all the four regions. Sources said the new state team could be declared after the conclusion of Vishwakarma's tour on October 17. Sources said an indication of possible names in the new team of Vishwakarma could possibly be drawn up by those prominently active during his state tour. The sources, however, are quick to add a rider that this may not be necessarily so either.
