Five missing cases of women were reported with the city police on Saturday. One of them,Sunaiyabanu Chipa (16) of Jamalpur,is a minor who went missing while on her way to her grandmothers house,the police said,adding that the family told the police that the girl neither reached her grandmothers place nor returned home.
In another case,a 22-year-old girl from Jamalpur went missing on Monday. The Gaikwad Haveli police said both girls have been missing since a week and are still untraceable.
Elsewhere,an 18-year-old girl from Danilimda had reportedly left her home owing to differences with the family members. She was last seen at a tea stall near her house two days later,but was reportedly never found after that,the Danilimda police said.
The other case is of a 31-year-old woman,Jashoda Thakore,from Motera in Sabarmati who left home for some unidentified reason last Sunday and never returned. The Sabarmati police said: Primary investigations have not shown any dispute with her husband or others. She has two young children,one a few months old,but the family was not present when she left the house.
In yet another case,a middle-aged woman,Hanifabibi Tetra,left her home at Paanchpatti in Dariapur on Wednesday while on her way to Godhra. The Dariapur police said the woman is reportedly mentally unstable and it is difficult to find out her whereabouts.
