An eatery manager in the Amraiwadi area was beaten to death by two of his customers in early hours of Thursday.
The police said the victim,Shambhusingh Rajput, had been running Balaji Parotha House for many years. The assailants have been identified as Murugananadan and Dhanraj Madrasi, both from Jantanagar in Ramol.
According to the police,Murugananadan would regularly eat at Shambhus hotel and had not paid bills for the last two days.
When he came there on late Wednesday night,Shambhu reminded him of his dues. This irked Murugananadan and he slapped the victim and abused him.
When the waiters challenged Murugananadan,he called his friend Dhanraj to the hotel. Dhanraj reportedly hit the victim and his waiters with a stick. Murugananadan hit Shambu several times on his head following which the manager died on the spot.
The police said Shambhus relatives, who were in the kitchen, rushed out to save him but he had died by then and the assailants had fled.
