Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.
Bharatsinh Zala representing CRANTI (Citizens for Resource and Action Initiative) has demanded Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the relatives of the deceased in an accident of a goverment bus in Navsari district on Friday.
A total of 41 persons were killed and several others were seriously injured.
Zala said that the state government had announced Rs 10 lakh as compensation when some Gujarati pilgrims had died on their way to Kailash Mansarovar when Narendra Modi (now prime minister) was the chief minister.
But the present chief minister Anandiben Patel has offered only Rs 4 lakh as compensation in Navsari bus deaths.
“The government must hike the compensation amount to Rs 10 lakh”, Zala demanded.
