Cong MLA disrupts Garib Kalyan Mela in Mandvi

Mandvi Congress MLA Kunwarji Harpati created ruckus at Garib Kalyan Mela on Friday as he was not formally invited for the convention.

Mandvi Congress MLA Kunwarji Harpati created ruckus at Garib Kalyan Mela on Friday as he was not formally invited for the convention. Sources said the invitation card,printed by the district administration,did not have names of any Congress MLA or MP.

The function started off peacefully with Minister for Rural Housing and Development Narottam Patel as the chief guest. After some time,Harpati entered the venue,Mandvi High School,and started shouting anti-Narendra Modi slogans.

He went up to the dais and accused the organisers of insulting him by not inviting him to give speech at the function. He left the venue chanting slogans against the state government and the BJP.

Harpati said: The administrative officials are deliberately sidelining the elected Congress MLAs and MPs by not mentioning their names in the invitation card. Even the name of MLA Jitu Chaudhary was not printed in the card. The BJP is organising Garib Kalyan Melas to woo the people ahead of Nagar Palika and civic polls across state.
