Ahmedabad:The Bavla police in Ahmedabad district detained 19 people belonging to different communities following a group clash late on Tuesday night. The police said that early in the morning,two students had a minor clash over a small issue which turned into a violent clash late in the night. Both the communities reportedly pelted stones at each other. According to police no one sustain injuries in the incident,however,fearing another round of clash they detained 19 people belonging to both the communities and lodged and FIR against them.

New Abad-Gorakhpur train from Aug 31

Ahmedabad:Western Railway will introduce a new weekly express train between Ahmedabad and Gorakhpur from August 31,said an official release here on Wednesday. Accordingly,Ahmedabad-Gorakhpur Weekly Express will leave Ahmedabad at 11.35 pm on every Friday from August 31 and reach Gorakhpur at 7.55 pm the next day. The train will leave Gorakhpur at 4.10 am every Sunday from September and reach Ahmedabad at 1.20 pm the next day.

3rd World Gujarati meet from Aug 31

Gandhinagar:Third World Gujarati Conference ‘Chaalo Gujarat’ organised by the Association of Indian American in North America will be held from August 31 to September 2 in the US. The theme of programme will be Gujarat,Gujarati & Gujaratism. Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address the conference on the second day.
