Vanga Geetha biography

Vanga Geetha is a political leader from the Andhra Pradesh-based Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party and a Member of the Parliament from the Kakinada constituency. She displayed her political prowess very early, as she entered the fray in 1983 at just 19 years old. She forged her way through a number of regional jobs. She promoted women's welfare as Chairperson of the Mahilashistu Sangh and then chaired the Zilla Parishad in the East Godavari district, where she demonstrated her capacity for leadership and gained practical experience.

She transitioned to national politics in 2000 when she was chosen to represent the Telugu Desam Party as a Member of Parliament in the upper chamber, the Rajya Sabha. Serving until 2006, she actively participated in discussions and fought for causes that were important to her, including healthcare and education.

She ran as an independent in 2009 and won the Pithapuram Assembly seat, though, which gave her political career a fascinating new direction. Her desire to leave the party fold and her independent personality was demonstrated by this change in her political affiliation.

In 2019, she aligned herself with the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party. She then entered and won the Lok Sabha elections from the Kakinada seat, riding the party's leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's wave of popularity.
