ABOUT Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu: A Steadily Rising Star in Indian Cinema Taapsee Pannu, born August 1, 1987, is a prominent Indian actress working predominantly in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. Her career trajectory showcases a deliberate shift from supporting roles to leading lady status, marked by critical acclaim and box office success. Pannu's acting debut in the 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam was followed by a string of roles in South Indian cinema before her Hindi film debut in Chashme Baddoor (2013). However, it was her performances in Baby (2015) and Pink (2016) that established her as a force to be reckoned with in Bollywood. These films, coupled with her compelling roles in The Ghazi Attack, Mulk, Manmarziyaan, Badla, and Mission Mangal, showcased her versatility and range. Her noteworthy achievements include two Filmfare Awards: the Critics Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh (2019), and the Best Actress award for her performance in Thappad (2020). Recent successes include starring roles in the streaming films Haseen Dillruba, Rashmi Rocket, and Looop Lapeta, and a high-grossing appearance in the comedy-drama Dunki (2023). Beyond acting, Pannu's entrepreneurial ventures include an event management company and ownership of the Pune 7 Aces badminton franchise.
