Ajit Pawar praises political rival Kalmadi for Pune Festival contribution

"The Pune Festival was started 35 years ago by Kalmadi and popularised the cultural event across the world. He promoted sports, art and culture through the event for so many years," said Pawar after officially inaugurating the 36th Pune festival.

The programme by Pulotsav is free-of-cost, with seats being allotted on first-come-first-serve basis. P L Deshpande, a celebrated Marathi writer and actor was born on November 9, 1919, and died on June 12, 2000.
