The castes and sub-castes recommended for inclusion are — Lodh, Lodha, Lodhi, Suryavanshi Gujar, Leve Gujar, Reve Gujar, Reva Gujar, Dangari, Bhoyar, Pawar, Kapewar, Munnar Kapewar, Munnar Kapu, Telanga, Telangi, Pentarreddy, Bukekari.
Caste-based census legitimate demand: NCBC chief

National Commission for Backward Classes Chairman Dr Bhagwan Lal Sahni said several organisations have met him with this demand and he has apprised the authorities concerned of the matter.

Justice Eswaraiah says if the government wants to sub-categorise the OBCs in order to give them justice, it should either publicise the data of Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC)-2011 or it should conduct a caste census.

Instead of implementing quotas in faculty positions, the panel had suggested that the 23 IITs should be exempted from reservations altogether under the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act 2019.
Rajya Sabha passes bill to grant constitutional status to NCBC

The Rajya Sabha had earlier passed the measure on July 31 last year, along with an amendment and sent it to the Lower House. The Lok Sabha had passed the bill last week with alternate amendments as well as some more changes unanimously with over two-thirds majority.
