Speaker of Gujarat Assembly and Chairman of Banas Dairy Shankar Chaudhary, on Sunday said that among the Anjana Chaudhari community just 2% are totally financially capable and the onus rests on such capable people to think about the development of the rest of the community members.
Chaudhary said this while addressing a gathering on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of Vishva Anjana Dham — a community centre of Anjana-Chaudhari community — at Jamiyatpura village of Gandhinagar district.
The centre is an initiative by the Chaudhari community for its members. Anjana Chaudhari community falls among the Other Backward Class (OBC) communities of Gujarat and its main occupation is animal husbandry and agriculture.
To be built at the cost of over Rs 300 crore, the Vishva Anjana Dham will provide educational and other facilities to more than 2,500 students.
Built on 6.50 lakh sq feet of land, the centre boasts of a hostel comprising 572 rooms equipped with modern facilities. It will also have facilities to train the youth in sports such as football, badminton, volleyball, basketball, to name a few. It will also promote community youths to participate in Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games.
Chaudhary highlighted the importance of ethics and good health for the community and advocated maintaining the same while staying away from any addiction.
Those present on the occasion included Gyan Vatsal Swami of Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and Gagji Sutariya from Sardar Dham, a Patidar organisation.
