Patna, Jan 24 (ANI): District Superintendent of Police A.S. Thakur on Sunday said that Janata Dal (United) MLA Sarfaraz Alam has been arrested and interrogation is underway. Meanwhile, maintaining his stand, arrested Sarfaraz Alam today said the charges of molestation that have been made against him are completely false and baseless. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 17 when Alam allegedly misbehaved with the couple on board the train. An FIR was registered against him with GRP Patna the next day. The MLA was allegedly travelling without ticket and was drunk. A footage of the purported incident was also aired by the media.

Patna, Jan 22 (ANI): Commenting on the Janata Dal-United MLA Sarfaraz Alam's molestation case, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday said in his view, there should be quick action against Sarfaraz, if there is any evidence. He added that now the JDU has to decide how they want to proceed in this matter.

Patna, Jan 22 (ANI): Commenting on the molestation case against Janata Dal-United (JDU) MLA Sarfaraz Alam, Bihar's Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav on Friday said he should be thrown in jail. An FIR was registered against Alam for misbehaving with a woman passenger on the Guwahati-Rajdhani Express on Sunday night.The case was filed at GRP police station in Patna, and Alam has been booked under sections 341, 323, 290, 504 and 354A of the IPC.
