Watch: Bengaluru woman on morning walk harassed by man, complaint filed

A woman morning walker in Bengaluru was harassed by an unidentified man in the early hours of Friday. However, the incident came to light on Sunday.

According to the complaint filed by the woman, 33, she was waiting for her neighbours to join her for a morning walk near an empty alley in southern Bengaluru when a man sneaked up on her and grabbed her from behind.

In a 1.06 minute-long CCTV footage captured from a nearby spot, the accused can be seen chasing the woman. He then catches up with the woman and tries to overpower her. But the woman manages to let out a scream, following which the assaulter flees from the spot.

A police officer said once they learnt about the incident, they traced the victim and she then lodged a complaint on Sunday.

A case has been registered under Sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 75 (sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
