Liquor, non-veg food prohibited around Vaishno Devi shrine for two more months

The prohibition will be enforced on the 12-km track from Katra to the holy cave on the Trikuta hill and would remain in force for two months from the date of its issuance, unless revoked earlier.

An official said heavy rains lashed Katra, the base camp for the pilgrims visiting the revered shrine, for several hours in the evening, prompting the authorities to suspend the yatra as a precautionary measure till 5 am on Saturday.
