Srinagar (J&K), Feb 25 (ANI): Taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah questioned the delay by the BJP-PDP alliance in forming the government in the state, in spite of having good numbers in the assembly. Talking about the present Governor Rule in the state, Abdullah said the rule is imposed when there is no numbers, which is also called the Breakdown of Constitutional Order, where there is no possibility of the formation of a government.

Mumbai/New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan said that efforts of the federal bank and the government to clean up banks' balance sheets would be successful and warned analysts against "scare-mongering"about the level of stressed assets in the sector. India's banks are struggling under $100 billion of stressed loans, choking the financial system at a time when the economy needs fresh investment to galvanise growth. Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha said the government, while working closely with RBI, was supporting the banks fully in terms of both capital as well as necessary policy measures. He also said that they have gone through and done the asset quality review and have identified the full extent of the problem.

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): After the demise of Lieutenant General (Retired) Jack Farj Rafael Jacob, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said that he had very different and friendly relations with him. Appreciating Lt. Gen. Jacob he said that he was a straight forward man and his contributions played a very vital role in the development of the country. He further asserted that he developed good relations with him when he was governor of Goa. Lt. Gen. Jacob, 92, passed away on Wednesday morning following a 13-days illness. He played the key role in India's victory in the India-Pakistan war of 1971.
