Conductor locks Bengaluru girl in bus for 45 minutes

Bengaluru, Feb 26 (ANI): A student of Bengaluru’s design school spent harrowing 45 minutes in a BMTC bus after a crew member, along with a few policemen and a mob, allegedly locked her inside the bus near Yelahanka police station. The crew, encouraged by the policemen and mob, allegedly told the woman they would release her only if her friend, who had fled after a clash with the conductor, returns. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) PS Harsha on Friday said they have arrested the conductor on the basis of FIR filed by the girl. He further said the conductor has also lodged a complaint against the girl and investigation is going on.

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jatin Narwal on Tuesday asserted that former Delhi University lecturer SAR Geelani has been arrested under sections 124A, 120B and 149 in connection with raising anti-India slogans in the Press Club of India. He added that the investigation is underway regarding the same. Geelani was arrested at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday following sedition charges at an event held on February 10.

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP)-1 of New Delhi District, Jatin Narwal, on Monday said that they are investigating the threat call to CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury. He added that the written complaint has been received on the issue and legal action will be taken. He further said that number has been disclosed. The security around the CPI (M) office has been increased after this incident.
