Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes turned out to be a one-man army for the Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2017 edition of the IPL scoring 316 runs, which included an absolutely ballistic century, and taking 12 wickets. His contribution on the field was also noteworthy and his tag as the most expensive player of the season was completely justified. He, alongwith the rest of his England team mates, had to skip the knockout stage of the tournament to join the rest of the squad in a training camp in Spain - something that Kevin Pietersen said was "pathetic, an absolute shambles.” Stokes is one of those players who is at home regardless of the format. He has scored over 2500 runs and taken 95 wickets in Test cricket and his 258-run annihilation of South Africa in Cape Town validated his status as one of England's most important players in the longest format of the game. His volatility has often been his curse though, and he recently paid for that after being banned by the ECB for an incident outside a pub in Bristol. It resulted in him missing the 2017-2018 Ashes. But he has made his return to the Test side since and will be playing for the Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 edition of the IPL.
