Shriya Saran, a popular name in Tollywood as well as Bollywood, turns 34 today. Who knew way back in the year 2001 that this Dehradun-born girl, who spent most of her childhood in Haridwar, will attain an irreplaceable name in the industry. It is sheer destiny that Shriya Saran landed in films. As a teenager, she was a dance master and was into Kathak. But it was her dance that gave her an opportunity to appear in Renoo Nathan's debut music video 'Thirakti Kyun Hawa', which helped Saran grab the attention of many Indian filmmakers. Shot in Banaras, the video was seen by Ramoji Films who offered her the lead role of Neha in their film Ishtam. This had set the ball rolling for the Shriya's illustrious career which has not only sustained but flourished for nearly 13 years now.

Shriya made her film debut in 2001 with the Telugu film Ishtam and had her first commercial success with Santhosham (2002).

She subsequently appeared in several other Telugu films, while making in-roads in the Hindi and Tamil industries too. In 2007, Shriya starred in Sivaji, the highest-grossing Tamil film at that time.

She also gained critical acclaim for her role in the 2007 Bollywood film Awarapan.

Not only Indian, Shriya made her debut in American cinema too with the 2008 film The Other End of the Line. She played the role of Priya Sethi who works as a telephone operator in an Indian call centre, while acting alongside Jesse Metcalfe, Anupam Kher and Tara Sharma.

This sexy diva has reigned the Telugu and Tamil film industries, and never looked back. The actress has been paired opposite many big names in Tollywood and Kollywood with the likes of Rajinikanth, Balakrishna, Vijay, Prabhas and Nagarjuna, to name a few.
